Abstract submission
Abstracts for presentations of three different formats are accepted for the AIESEP 2020 conference: Oral paper presentation, poster presentation, and symposium. All abstracts must be submitted through the ExOrdo portal, other submission formats will not be accepted. Existing users may log in using their existing credentials (the login credentials are the same as AIESEP 2019); new users will need to register an account with ExOrdo.

Conference subthemes
When submitting abstracts, authors must identify 1 to 2 subthemes that match their paper. The following sub-themes will be explored in the 2019 conference:

  1. Evidence-based pedagogical practices for quality physical education and sport
  2. Curriculum and policy issues in promoting physical literacy via physical education and other physical activity and sport contexts
  3. Developing physical education, physical activity, and physical fitness assessment praxis: From theory to practice.
  4. Physical Education Teacher Education: Research-informed and practice-led innovation in teacher preparation and professional development
Language
All submitted abstracts must be written in English.

Specific guidelines for oral paper presentations and poster presentations
When submitting abstracts for oral paper presentations or poster presentations, authors should specific their preferred format of presentation (oral or poster). Authors may use the below headers as a guideline to prepare their abstracts, but can also use fewer or more headers to fit the specific needs for their investigation.

  • Title
    Highlights the core contents of the study (does not count toward the word limit)
  • Introduction/Background
    Provide the background of the investigation
  • Method
    Describe the study design, how data was collected and analyzed
  • Results
    Provide the main results of the investigation
  • Conclusion/Discussion
    Discuss key findings and provide a conclusion to the study
  • Further research
    Provide recommendations on future research possibilities
Abstracts for paper and poster presentations have a word limit of 300 words (exclusive of the title).

Symposia
Symposia are self-organized seminars of three to four papers on a similar topic and presented in the same session. Symposium chairs must submit a proposal for the symposium, while authors of the talks should also submit abstracts for the presentations individually.

Specific guidelines for symposium chairs
When submitting proposals for symposia, the symposium chair should submit an abstract in a “Symposium” format. The abstract should include the following elements:

  • Title
    Highlight the core elements of the symposium that connects the presentations
  • Introduction/Background
    Provide the background, rationale, and aims of the symposium
  • Synergy of presentations
    Describe how different presentations are synergized to achieve the aim of the symposium
  • Key findings
    Provide and discuss the key findings of the presentations
Abstracts for symposium proposals have a word limit of 300 words (exclusive of the title).

Specific guidelines for symposium presenters
To submit an abstract for symposium presentation, please select “Symposium” as the submission format. To identify the symposium the presentation belongs to, please enter the title as “Title of symposium – Title of presentation”. Symposium presentations should follow a format similar to oral/poster presentations:

  • Title
    Highlights the core contents of the study (does not count toward the word limit)

    Provide the background of the investigation
  • Method
    Describe the study design, how data was collected and analyzed
  • Results
    Provide the main results of the investigation
